Key Responsibilities

  • •Proactively manage assigned complex claims caseload, analyzing coverage, liability exposure, and negotiating equitable settlements within authority limits.
  • •Investigate claim damages by researching information from the insured, third parties, and external resources; identify discrepancies and subrogation opportunities.
  • •Determine coverage by analyzing complex policy terms/contingencies, review prior loss history, and create Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals when appropriate.
  • •Prepare claims estimates using Xactimate (or similar) and maintain accurate, thorough, up-to-date claim file documentation throughout the claims process.
  • •Support workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response as needed, including mandatory on-call and potential travel outside the local territory.

Key Requirements

  • •2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience handling moderate complexity losses, including writing estimates and dwelling/structural damages.
  • •Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar estimating tools/platforms.
  • •Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts, including interpretation of case law and state laws/regulations.
  • •Proficient negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • •Ability to travel 50-75% of the year and acquire/maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days (3 attempts).
