Job Summary

Provide privacy support as well as legal, compliance, and AI governance guidance for Sony’s business and operational functions across Singapore and the APAC region. Lead privacy impact assessments, counsel teams on privacy/legal/compliance/AI governance matters, draft and negotiate commercial and corporate documents, support compliance risk management and training, and assist with disputes, investigations, and company secretary matters.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct privacy impact assessments and provide solutions aligned with regional privacy regulatory requirements, and help promote and maintain privacy management frameworks across regions.
•Advise and counsel on privacy, legal, compliance, and AI governance matters for Sony’s businesses.
•Draft, vet, and negotiate legal, commercial, and corporate documents; review and advise on rights and liabilities under commercial and corporate agreements.
•Assess compliance risks and support regional compliance activities, including policy implementation, compliance training and ethics messaging, compliance reviews and audits, and internal investigations.
•Assist in legal disputes and governance matters, manage external lawyers, and support company secretary matters.

Key Requirements

•LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and/or a recognized university in a common Asia Pacific law jurisdiction.
•Legal knowledge of privacy, commercial, consumer, and AI laws in Singapore and/or other Asia Pacific countries.
•Expertise applying legal frameworks to electronics hardware, software, data, and retail business.
•Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in general corporate/commercial work.
•Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification privacy experience, including privacy impact assessments and drafting privacy documents such as privacy policies, privacy notices, and data processing agreements (GDPR experience is an advantage).
