Job Summary

Principal Technician - Structures responsible for agreeing drawing strategy, type and size of drawings and drawing numbering with project engineer, and suggesting methods of drawing production to ensure efficient methods of working. Develop and model building elements using structural drawings and Revit; create 3D reinforcement models and support BIM setup and coordination across projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Agree drawing strategy, type and size of drawings and drawing numbering with the project engineer and suggest methods of drawing production to ensure efficient methods of working.
•Develop and model building elements using structural drawings/PDFs or hand drafts in Revit software.
•Create and manage 3D reinforcement Revit structures modelling and specifications/Bar bending schedules.
•Set up automation or Dynamo activities where needed and possible to aid workflow.
•Coordinate BIM models to project standards and liaise with Model Managers from the client side.

Key Requirements

•12+ years of experience working on projects of various sizes, independently and as part of a project team.
•Proficiency in Revit environment, including Steel/Concrete/Point cloud/Pre-cast/Cast in situ models.
•Experience in 3D reinforcement Revit structures modelling and specifications (BAR bending schedules).
•Strong knowledge of BIM standards and ability to coach junior staff in Revit usage.
•Ability to develop and model building elements from structural drawings/PDFs or hand drafts in Revit.
