Fabricate precision NSMS probe parts (often under 1 inch) and related holding fixtures for development testing across commercial and military engine programs. Build instrumentation and special test equipment components to support WPB test facilities, and modify development testing hardware as program needs evolve. Maintain shop tooling and cutting-tool inventory while collaborating closely with Measurement Systems Engineering, optics installation, and test operations teams using strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

•Fabricate parts for non-interference stress measurement (NSMS) probes for commercial and military engine development testing.
•Fabricate holding fixtures required for NSMS probe parts manufacture.
•Fabricate instrumentation and special test equipment parts to support development testing in WPB test facilities.
•Modify development testing hardware to support commercial, military, and APU engine programs.
•Maintain shop tooling and inventory of cutting tools while coordinating with engineering and test operations groups.

Key Requirements

•AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with 8 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment, or 10 years of experience in lieu of degree.
•CNC machining experience.
•Machine control programming experience (MasterCam).
•Dimensional inspection experience (MicroVU).
•Experience with AutoCad, Wire EDM, machine setup, comparator operation, dimensional M&TE, or blueprint reading.
