Job Summary

Inspect and verify mechanical systems work for major construction projects supporting the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Watervliet Arsenal. Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and commissioning, and monitor documentation for schedule and contract compliance. Lead technical reviews for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and building control systems, participate in mechanical/plumbing meetings, and support warranty inspections and change order/claim documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Review plans and specifications and oversee work to ensure construction conforms to contract drawings.
•Review technical aspects of major design, construction, renovation, and alteration projects, including mechanical systems and equipment inspections and testing.
•Monitor and document commissioning of building systems and perform plan-in-hand reviews.
•Prepare correspondence, reports, and A-E contract criteria for project completion, including review of complex change orders and claims.
•Attend mechanical and plumbing meetings, support RFP/design requirement input (including any LEED requirements), and participate in warranty inspections to maintain contractual warranty.

Travel: High travel

Key Requirements

•HS + 10 years of relevant experience in construction practices, engineering procedures, and testing, including large vertical DoD construction projects.
•3 years of commissioning experience.
•US citizenship is required for this project.
•Must pass state and federal criminal history/security background checks, a pre-employment drug screen, and a federal background check to be issued a CAC card.
•Preferred: a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and building control systems.
