Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide analytical SEM and mechanical cross-section data to support R&D, product development, and manufacturing.
  • •Collaborate with Engineering partners to evaluate components/materials, characterize material properties, and identify probable failure causes.
  • •Use SFT LIMS to manage task requests and priorities, and deliver results within negotiated delivery dates.
  • •Perform method development, document operating procedures, and support quality systems through proper technique and gauge studies.
  • •Create lab reports, store images, manage priorities/workload or equipment issues, and troubleshoot instruments and protocols as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of demonstrated Analytical or R&D lab technician experience.
  • •3+ years of SEM experience, with Mechanical Cross-section experience a plus.
  • •AA/AS degree in chemistry, metals, materials, physics, computers, electronics, or similar technology, or equivalent education and job experience.
  • •Ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment with urgent timelines.
  • •Ability to learn and operate advanced instruments in a non-routine fashion, including setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
