Job Summary

Build AI search agents and improve TikTok Search’s LLM-powered question-answer experiences. You’ll enhance multi-turn query understanding, apply reinforcement learning and knowledge representation for end-to-end problem solving, and optimize RAG and LLM pipelines (retrieval, ranking, fine-tuning, and inference). Translate agent/LLM research into production by partnering cross-functionally to drive real product upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

•Build AI search agents with planning, memory, and tool-use capabilities, applying reinforcement learning and automated decision-making to solve problems end-to-end.
•Improve LLM-based query understanding by processing multi-turn conversations and performing semantic analysis on queries and documents to produce accurate, objective results.
•Optimize RAG and LLM pipelines by improving retrieval and ranking, training and optimizing LLMs for answer generation, and enhancing relevance and structured result presentation.
•Translate agent/LLM research into production by collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver product upgrades.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
•Proficient in C++ and/or Python with strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures (including retrieval and graph algorithms).
•Basic understanding of LLM fundamentals such as prompt engineering and fine-tuning workflows.
•Hands-on experience with LLM/Agent technologies, including RAG optimization, RLHF/SFT, or agent framework development (planning/memory).
•Strong communication and collaboration skills with a track record of exploring new technologies and driving technical advancements.
