Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the detection engineering program end to end: threat modeling, detection design, deployment, tuning, and retirement with MITRE ATT&CK coverage.
  • •Build detection-as-code pipelines with version control, testing, and peer review; measure false-positive rates.
  • •Run threat hunts against real adversary behavior in cloud, SaaS, and data center environments and convert findings into repeatable detections.
  • •Drive SIEM and EDR pipeline health including log source onboarding, normalization, and alert quality for on-call responders.
  • •Lead triage and response for alerts you build and close incidents with root-cause writeups that change the detection stack; build automation to remove manual triage steps.

Salary: USD 176,000 - 218,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years in detection engineering or threat hunting in a mature security operations org (cloud-native infrastructure, SaaS, or fintech).
  • •Deep hands-on experience with SIEM and EDR tooling, including Splunk, Elastic, CrowdStrike (or equivalent) plus query languages and pipeline tuning.
  • •Written and maintained detection logic mapped to MITRE ATT&CK against real adversary behavior, with examples of detections that caught something.
  • •Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, SQL, or similar) and a detection-as-code workflow with tests, review, and rollback.
  • •Ability to tune or kill noisy/broken detections before responders ignore them; comfortable scoping and building process with minimal SOC support.
