Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
  • •Independently determine parts required and coordinate with the Shop Parts Department to obtain them.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer systems including brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, steering systems, welding, fabrication, and replacement of panels/body and framework.
  • •Document work on Repair Orders (RO) and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings using company-issued devices and/or Karmak application.
  • •Maintain safety and compliance with OSHA/EPA/DOT requirements and participate in required safety training while supporting productivity and standard repair times.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as 3 years with a related degree/certification, or 7 years in the field).
  • •3 years of reefer experience.
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the role.
  • •Pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; a current DOT medical card with sufficient validity may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical.
  • •Hold a valid CDL-A license and maintain a valid state-of-residence driver’s license with an up-to-date Driver Qualification File.
