Job Summary

Support day-to-day operations in a NQA-1 compliant machine shop by developing, documenting, and optimizing manufacturing processes and machining strategies. Create work instructions, setup sheets, and process routings for CNC milling, turning, and waterjet/laser cutting. Lead tooling/fixture design, inspection plans, and corrective actions for non-conformances. Drive lean improvements, track shop metrics (scrap, yield, cycle time, OEE), evaluate new equipment, and mentor shop personnel.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixturing for CNC milling, turning, waterjet/laser cutting, and other machining operations.
•Create and maintain work instructions, setup sheets, and process routings to ensure traceability and controlled production.
•Evaluate and select cutting tools, work holding solutions, and machining strategies to optimize quality, cycle time, and cost.
•Design, document, and lead fabrication of tooling and fixtures; collaborate on executable inspection plans with engineering and quality.
•Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing non-conformances, implement lean improvements, and track key shop metrics (scrap rate, first-pass yield, cycle time, OEE), mentoring shop personnel on new processes.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of manufacturing/process engineering experience supporting a machine shop environment.
•Experience in highly regulated machine shop environments (e.g., AS9100, ISO 13485, NQA-1).
•Strong understanding and application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
•Hands-on experience with CNC machining processes (multi-axis milling, turning, EDM, grinding).
•Experience with CAM tools (e.g., Mastercam, NX CAM, Fusion 360), CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, Creo), and controlled manufacturing procedure documentation.
