Key Responsibilities

•Own the scientific charter and technical roadmap for the Magnets vertical, including phase stability, magnetocrystalline anisotropy, coercivity, and microstructure engineering.
•Manage the IP engine by translating generative design outputs into a robust IP portfolio and ensuring ownership of key “white space” areas.
•Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of research scientists, computational/ML scientists, and postdocs, including running technical reviews.
•Specify and prioritize magnetism-aware LQMs, datageneration, and multi-scale modeling capabilities for the AISim platform; serve as the scientific counterpart to platform engineering teams.
•Lead partner engagement with national labs and industrial/defense stakeholders and architect computational-to-experimental feedback loops to accelerate the DBTL cycle.

Salary: USD 224,000 - 420,000 annually

Key Requirements

•PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline, with deep specialization in magnetism, intermetallics, or hard magnetic materials.
•5+ years post-PhD experience leading scientific programs in magnetic materials, with significant industrial or national-lab leadership at a principal scientist/fellow/director level.
•Demonstrated ability to translate first-principles, multi-scale, and ML-driven modeling into manufacturable magnet formulations, including coupling to powder metallurgy, sintering, and heat-treatment processes.
•Track record of building and leading multidisciplinary scientific teams and shaping research roadmaps tied to external commitments.
•Strong external scientific presence, including publication and patent record and representing work to senior government, defense, and industrial audiences.
