Collaborates with lead estimator, utilizes takeoff software (Bluebeam, CostX, On-Screen Takeoff) and estimating platforms (InEight, Heavy Bid, Sage), and communicates with clients to refine requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain cost estimates for transmission line and substation projects across all design stages (Class 5 to Class 1), including labor, equipment, and material cost breakdowns
•Perform quantity take-offs and prepare bills of materials for electrical components and equipment
•Create and maintain Basis of Estimate, estimate narratives, and final estimate reports, and develop historical cost databases
•Communicate with clients to clarify requirements, prepare RFIs, and incorporate feedback to ensure accurate final submissions
•Collaborate with the lead estimator to meet deadlines and transfer estimates into the master estimate using standard templates

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 95,000 - 145,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (college diploma in Electrical Power considered a major priority)
•5–8 years of cost estimating experience for transmission line and substation projects across pre- and post-contract phases
•3–5 years of experience with electrical contractors is an asset
•PQS and/or P.Eng designation is considered a strong asset
•Proficiency with takeoff software (Bluebeam, CostX, On-Screen Takeoff) and estimating platforms; ability to develop WBS, BOMs, and detailed cost narratives
