Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise the maintenance, installation, and modification of equipment in designated areas to achieve optimum availability and efficiency while following regulations and procedures.
  • •Manage dewatering network performance by supporting reliable operation of abstraction sumps, pumps, pipelines, and monitoring systems to handle fluctuating seepage inflows and reduce downtime.
  • •Optimize pumping and energy usage through improved pump selection/scheduling, real-time monitoring, pump operating point optimization, and reduction of hydraulic losses.
  • •Ensure emergency power readiness by maintaining standby generators to support continuous water control during power outages.
  • •Take charge of an operational team, including budget and cost control as well as people and SHE management activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science and “E” symbol in English, OR Grade 10 with Mathematics, Science and “E” in English, along with the relevant Trade Diploma/Trade certificate pathway (N2/N3/Level 4 or Level 3 options as specified).
  • •Valid Code B/BE Driver’s license (Manual Transmission).
  • •Valid Code of Conduct.
  • •Knowledge of Namibian Labour Law.
  • •Six (6) years post apprenticeship experience as an Artisan in the mining industry with knowledge of plant equipment, plus SAP knowledge and MS-Office/PC literacy (including MS Projects).
