Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan, implement and review the Drama curriculum within the school’s aims and objectives, including schemes of work.
  • •Oversee curriculum delivery quality through preparation, monitoring, lesson observations (where applicable), and ensuring assessment standardisation.
  • •Monitor departmental data and develop action plans to improve student outcomes (progress, attainment, and learning skills).
  • •Manage department staffing: oversee teaching staff, support appointments and appraisal, plan INSET, and contribute to induction and performance evaluation.
  • •Manage resources and administration: ordering and budgeting for materials and equipment, maintain department policies, and coordinate timetabling and teaching schedules.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified Drama Teacher with an appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed. and/or PGCE).
  • •Proven track record of outstanding results, teaching Drama to GCSE and A Level using the Edexcel specification.
  • •Working knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and Wales and its associated assessment practices.
  • •Strong focus on pastoral care and safeguarding, including the ability to identify safeguarding concerns.
  • •Available to join Jebel Ali School in January 2027.
