Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure (substation, collection, and transmission systems).
  • •Read schematics and troubleshoot complicated mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems with turbine control components.
  • •Perform mechanical and electrical repair or replacement of parts to address malfunctions per manufacturers’ requirements.
  • •Complete preventive maintenance using OEM maintenance manuals and support retrofits/design modifications.
  • •Collect data, prepare reports for wind plant reporting requirements, and perform QA/QC functions with supporting documentation; support construction walk-downs if applicable.

Key Requirements

  • •One year of college/technical school training or 12 months of related experience (or an equivalent education/experience combination), plus a High School Diploma or GED.
  • •Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, infrared testers, hydraulic torque equipment, and hand/power tools).
  • •Advanced computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets, email, and facility control/management/reporting systems plus computerized diagnostic/troubleshooting tools.
  • •Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily and lift up to 60 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • •Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to interpret and follow written/oral/diagram/schedule instructions.
