Key Responsibilities

  • •Select and allocate resources for safe work, consider environmental factors, and oversee elements of the safety management system.
  • •Align civil engineering strategy with the production profile and proactively manage civil engineering risks.
  • •Ensure quality control/assurance in routine testing and manage contractors to meet production plans and quality standards.
  • •Optimize asset usage and maintain project equipment maintenance within budget constraints, including audits for regulatory compliance.
  • •Manage budget and cost control: ensure budget compliance, approve cost impacts, generate expenditure authorisations, and execute cost-reduction initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • •Engineering B-degree and GCC, or a National Diploma and GCC.
  • •6-8 years of relevant operational experience in the mining industry, with legal appointment of not less than 3 years.
  • •Must have contractor management experience and knowledge of the legal compliance framework.
  • •Knowledge of HME equipment maintenance and relevant legislation (Mine Health and Safety Act).
  • •Advanced computer literacy (MS Office, Projects, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a SA Drivers Licence.
