Job Summary

Lead the site-wide water planning function, developing water strategies and near/medium/long-term water forecasting to support infrastructure planning and compliance. Provide technical oversight and QA/QC for water modelling and consultant deliverables, and track monitoring program performance for informed decision-making. Manage water risks, coordinate cross-team water-related activities across operations and sustainability, mentor the water planning team, and own water infrastructure strategies and CAPEX/OPEX planning for current operations and Mine Life Extension.

Key Responsibilities

•Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures, and perform Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) field visits.
•Lead the water planning function under Integrated Planning & Production, including developing and maintaining site-wide water management strategies and plans.
•Provide technical oversight and direction for water modelling, including QA/QC and professional review of all water-related work and consultant deliverables.
•Ensure monitoring programs and performance tracking support compliance and decision-making, and lead water risk identification, assessment, and integration into planning processes.
•Mentor and supervise the existing water planning team; own infrastructure strategies and lead CAPEX and OPEX planning for water resources activities.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 138,000 - 170,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in water resources, civil, environmental, or a related engineering discipline.
•Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) as a P. Eng.
•Minimum 10+ years of experience in water management, planning, or a related field.
•Strong technical background in water modelling, planning, and infrastructure design.
•Demonstrated technical leadership, including QA/QC and coordinating multiple internal and external resources.
•Valid driver’s license
•Strong understanding of regulatory, environmental, and operational water requirements
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills to integrate key stakeholders
•Continuous improvement mindset focused on data quality and operational value
