Key Responsibilities

  • •Implement a comprehensive school counseling program to support students’ academic success, social and emotional development, and career/college planning.
  • •Meet quarterly with students to review graduation plans and post-secondary options, and review transcripts and academic documentation for new and returning students.
  • •Deliver classroom instruction aligned to student success standards and support course placement, including recommendations on Advanced Placement (AP) and learning pathways.
  • •Develop data-driven intervention action plans by analyzing student data, and provide short-term counseling with referrals for long-term support as needed.
  • •Collaborate with teaching staff to build a four-year graduation plan, audit student schedules for graduation candidacy, and support standardized testing, parent education, staff development, and advocacy at IEP meetings.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in counseling and/or advisement.
  • •School Counselor License.
  • •North Carolina School Counselor Certification required.
  • •Ability to clear required background check.
  • •Master’s degree in school counseling and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems.
