Key Responsibilities

  • •Work with Earth observation customers to derive mission and payload requirements, verification techniques, and flow them down to software and hardware teams and suppliers.
  • •Follow and drive optical payload suppliers’ development and test activities.
  • •Develop on-ground and in-orbit test and calibration strategy with AIT and OPS teams, and define on-board and on-ground data processing strategy.
  • •Support mission CONOPS development and participate in integration, test campaigns, launch, and in-orbit commissioning.
  • •Own and contribute to development of the company’s Earth observation roadmap and support business development activities for optical payload customers and virtual missions.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of demonstrated experience as a space systems engineer on Earth observation missions.
  • •Familiarity with image quality metrics and imagery calibration (geometric, radiometric, spectral, etc.).
  • •Good experience in optical payloads.
  • •Coded in Python for at least one year.
  • •Good knowledge of deep learning and artificial neural networks; experience with optics and detector technologies.
