Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the supply base for critical raw material commodities for flight and development programs, building relationships with mills and distributors worldwide.
  • •Use demand forecasts and design releases to ensure manufacturing capacity and quality yield for production ramp-ups.
  • •Provide guidance on design for manufacturability, supply chain optimization, and cost reduction to procurement and engineering stakeholders.
  • •Collaborate with engineering and suppliers on design reviews, scorecards/roadmaps, schedules, and quality requirements.
  • •Monitor and manage costs, administer and negotiate contracts, and prepare/analyze RFx packages and issue purchase orders.

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced degree with 4+ years, or bachelor’s degree with 6+ years, or 10+ years experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material/production planning, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, and/or master production scheduling.
  • •Experience sourcing from a global supply base with raw material mills and distributors.
  • •Experience reading drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, preliminary design reviews, and quality documents.
  • •Experience managing large value contracts/LTAs and high-volume tactical purchase orders while setting commodity strategy.
  • •Ability to identify and execute an optimized supply chain covering raw material, machining, material processing, inspection, and logistics.
