Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide courageous safety leadership and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • •Supervise and provide guidance to senior and intermediate geotechnical engineers.
  • •Oversee construction and maintenance of dewatering well installations for Mine Life Extension pushback.
  • •Coordinate and review external geotechnical consultant work to ensure fit for purpose and compliance with specifications, standards, and codes.
  • •Manage geotechnical risk, perform inspections (Visible Felt Leadership), and communicate geotechnical risks and solutions to site stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 138,000 - 170,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Geological or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • •Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) as a P. Eng.
  • •Minimum ten (10) years mining industry experience, including geotechnical experience in an open pit environment.
  • •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and relevant geotechnical software such as GeoExplorer, Vulcan, AutoCAD, Slide, Dips, Swedge, RocFall, and Phase2/RS2.
  • •Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus a valid driver’s license.
