Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with design teams to support design development, provide manufacturability feedback, and generate product data (drawings, BOM, part requirements) for composite assemblies to drive supplier quality.
  • •Leverage knowledge of composites, additive manufacturing, fabrication, special processes, mechanical sub-assembly, and inspection to support design, manage technical risks, and scale designs for production.
  • •Drive supplier quality development throughout product development with design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and qualification for components and sub-assemblies, ensuring alignment to mechanical requirements.
  • •Collaborate with development engineering, product quality engineering, sourcing engineering, category management, and program management to deliver predictable supplier performance and manage deviations in development phases.
  • •Lead supplier qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, audits, inspection development) and analyze key characteristics to develop measurement systems and readiness for supplier qualification.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a similar technical field.
  • •Experience with producing composite assemblies and manufacturing of mechanical sub-assemblies for aerospace.
  • •Experience scaling supplier capabilities and quality from prototype to high-rate production, including source inspections at aerospace/defense suppliers.
  • •Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management Systems; AS9100 Lead/Internal Auditor Certification is a plus.
  • •Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 and ensuring control plans and inspection processes meet product requirements.
