Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently underwrite complex FHA-insured transactions and oversee the broader FHA underwriting process to ensure timely firm commitments.
  • •Lead and manage the FHA Underwriting Team by assigning work, balancing workload, and distributing deals based on complexity and capacity.
  • •Coach, mentor, and train Senior Underwriters and team members through reviews, real-time guidance, and ongoing feedback.
  • •Perform credit quality and risk oversight by reviewing narratives, HUD-form documentation, and analyses for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • •Partner with HUD, originators, and internal stakeholders on deal calls and issue resolution to support disciplined deal structuring and exceptional client experience.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 128,000 - 268,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 7 years underwriting FHA-insured multifamily loans, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior leadership capacity.
  • •Current LEAN-approved Underwriter status with HUD.
  • •Expertise analyzing market-rate and affordable multifamily FHA transactions using the LEAN Guide and HUD underwriting fundamentals.
  • •Experience preparing, reviewing, and quality-controlling HUD-required loan documentation, including underwriting narratives and firm commitment applications.
