Key Responsibilities

  • •Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems associated with boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
  • •Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain protective relays, computers, metering, monitoring, and control systems; perform benchwork and component troubleshooting in shop.
  • •Read and interpret electric generating plants P&IDs and CWDs to locate, identify, troubleshoot, and repair plant systems and interlocks.
  • •Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools to troubleshoot and maintain power plant devices and systems.
  • •Complete written and electronic records (e.g., work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) and continually update knowledge of plant systems and instrumentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Associates Degree or equivalent education in instrumentation, pneumatics, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or completion of an Instrumentation and Controls Apprentice Training Program.
  • •Two (2) years military experience in electronics repair and calibration may be substituted for formal training, or three (3) years industrial experience in electronics repair and calibration.
  • •Valid drivers license.
  • •Good mechanical aptitude.
  • •Knowledge of electricity, including voltage and current relationships.
