Key Responsibilities

  • •Write, review, and ship production code on critical payment paths, staying hands-on.
  • •Debug production incidents and reliability, performance, and correctness issues.
  • •Set technical direction and make architecture calls that matter.
  • •Own delivery: break work down, sequence it, ensure it lands.
  • •Mentor and manage engineers (1:1s, feedback, performance, hiring) and be point of accountability to the founders, reporting personnel matters to the CTO.

Key Requirements

  • •Be a senior engineering leader who can still operate as a strong, current IC and hold your own in the codebase.
  • •Have a proven track record owning delivery with real product shipped on cadence and clear accountability.
  • •Know how to build process with rigor (without bureaucracy) and create clarity before work hits engineering.
  • •Be comfortable in the stack: TypeScript/Node (Express, React), MongoDB, ClickHouse, and Redis/queues.
  • •Have a high bar for reliability, security, and correctness, with direct communication and writing down decisions and risks.
