Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as a registered competent person and advisor to ensure compliance with Electricity Supply Act 447 and Electricity Regulation 1994, including full duty as a 132kV resident engineer.
  • •Liaise with the Energy Commission and energy stakeholders (including ST, TNB, NLDC, GSO) for communications, switching, inspections, outage planning, and switching requirements.
  • •Monitor and analyze alarms, guide engineers on updates to FMEA and electrical risk assessments, and submit required inspection reports.
  • •Review and advise on electrical safety documents (including Permit to Work) and ensure all safety standards and legal requirements are met.
  • •Oversee and guide day-to-day operations and preventive maintenance for high-/medium-voltage systems and related controls, including testing/commissioning support and emergency readiness.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in an engineering or information technology related discipline.
  • •Registered professional Electrical Engineer with BEM, including signing authority.
  • •Registered with the Energy Commission of Malaysia as a 132kV Competent Engineer (JEK).
  • •Minimum of 5 years knowledge in 132kV operations and 10 years knowledge in the manufacturing industry.
  • •Expert knowledge of controls systems and SCADA, including PLC programming and understanding of communication networks.
