Key Responsibilities

  • •Take lead roles on flood risk management projects for local authorities, including flood investigations, developing flood strategies, and supporting flood alleviation solutions.
  • •Contribute to delivering solutions such as natural flood management and sustainable drainage master-planning, and support planning processes for sustainable water-environment outcomes.
  • •Engage clients professionally and grow trusted-advisor relationships through a network of client contacts.
  • •Lead delivery of high-quality technical deliverables as technical reviewer and approver.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience working in flood risk management with local authorities (or a mix of public and private sector flood risk management experience).
  • •Demonstrable experience understanding budgets and leading delivery of projects or technical outputs related to flood risk management or sustainable drainage.
  • •Knowledge of Flood and Water Management Act 2010, Land Drainage Act, and Planning Practice Guidance: Flood Risk and Coastal Change (desirable wider UK planning regulatory knowledge).
  • •Knowledge and understanding of surface water drainage modelling and Sustainable Drainage Systems.
  • •Experience preparing Local Flood Risk Management Strategies and Strategic Flood Risk Assessments, plus technical report writing and checking.
