Job Summary

Operate packaging equipment at a plant in Louisville, KY, packaging product into bags and loading onto trailers using a forklift. You’ll follow Operating Discipline to ensure safe, efficient operation, perform equipment field checks and troubleshooting, test product quality, and complete housekeeping and maintenance steps like isolating energy sources and issuing safe work permits. You’ll also monitor plant metrics and use SPC tools to support process optimization and root-cause investigations.

Key Responsibilities

•Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
•Operate and field-check process equipment; monitor process conditions, equipment, and control systems.
•Package product by putting it into bags and loading onto trailers using a forklift; test product quality and perform housekeeping.
•Isolate energy sources for packaging equipment maintenance, issue safe work permits, and perform minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance.
•Monitor and input plant metrics for SPC, asset utilization, conversion costs, and yields, and use SPC tools to optimize plant operation and support root-cause investigations.

Key Requirements

•Minimum high school diploma or GED.
•Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.
•Willing and able to work all applicable rotating shifts (including weekends) and work overtime when needed.
•Must be able to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship/support is available.
•Preferred: 5+ years of chemical industry experience and ability to drive a forklift.
