Job Summary

Assist Herd Technicians with routine animal care and general farm tasks to support animal welfare at the work site. Feed, water, vaccinate, and perform basic animal husbandry, including piglet processing (injecting medications, castrating, docking tails, ear notching). Sanitize and wash farm areas with high-pressure equipment, treat sick animals as required, maintain accurate records, and help with facility/equipment and barn cleanliness. Follow SOPs, animal welfare, and safety/biosecurity procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist Herd Technicians with routine animal care to ensure animal welfare and well-being.

•Assist with moving animals and maintaining efficient animal flows.
•Sanitize and wash farm areas using high-pressure equipment, and process piglets (inject medications, castrate, dock tails, ear notch).
•Maintain production information and department records and assist with facility/equipment and barn cleanliness.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 18 hourly

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•Previous livestock handling helpful.
•Ability to do hard physical labor.
•Strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•Must be able to work an average 48-hour work week with weekend/evening/holiday work as needed, and be on call for emergencies.
