Perform MIG welding and grinding on assemblies using wire feed arc welding machines. Learn and follow safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards while supporting continuous improvement. Complete introductory training and, within six months, advance through blueprint reading, takt standard work, minor machine adjustments, measurement, and jig/fixture handling while meeting weld quality requirements in aluminum and/or steel.

•Perform welding and grinding operations on assemblies using wire feed arc welding machines.
•Support and demonstrate safe, clean, and well-organized workplace practices during the introductory period.
•Complete blueprint reading training and demonstrate ability to read and understand Thermo King welding blueprints.
•Demonstrate good-quality welds in aluminum and/or steel while meeting department requirements and quality metrics.
•Make minor machine adjustments and perform required maintenance tasks, including using measuring equipment and handling jigs/fixtures within department standards.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED, plus successful completion of the GMAW 1 welding course through Central Community College.
•Demonstrate ability to read and understand TK prints for the specific department.

•Internal bidders must complete the GMAW 1 course through CCC before consideration (unless already certified); external hires must begin the Thermo King Certification process within 30 days.
•During the introductory period, follow standard work and support a safe, clean, well-organized workplace while addressing problems at the lowest level possible.
