Job Summary

Lead two product engineering teams as a player-coach, owning people leadership, delivery oversight, and prioritization support. Partner with Engineering Leads and the Director to shape architecture and technical direction, bring scrutiny to major technical decisions, and drive incremental business value. Continuously assess team effectiveness and ensure platform health and operational rigor, including participation in the management on-call rotation. Help scale via hiring and champion AI-native engineering practices using AI-assisted coding tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Own people leadership for two engineering teams, including 1:1s, performance reviews, and career growth for Engineering Leads and IC engineers.
•Act as a technical leader across both teams by shaping architecture and technical direction and reviewing significant technical decisions.
•Partner with the Director to develop the broader group of Engineering Leads and support Engineering Manager peer alignment as the team grows.
•Drive prioritization discipline, champion ruthless scoping, and enable incremental delivery of business value.
•Ensure platform health, stability, and operational rigor across both teams, including participation in the management on-call rotation and scaling through hiring.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 165,000 - 225,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Extensive software engineering experience with enough depth to evaluate teams’ technical decisions (typically 8+ years).
•Proven track record managing engineers across levels and working styles (typically 3+ years in a formal management role).

•Strong communication across technical and business stakeholders.
•Comfort and recent hands-on proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools.
