Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive architectural strategy for the high-throughput Risk API, owning design, delivery, and operational excellence.
  • •Define and implement robust Risk API contracts and data schemas that interface between Product features and FinCrime defense systems.
  • •Establish frameworks for immutable logging of platform-wide risk evaluations to ensure auditability and transparency.
  • •Hire, mentor, and lead an IC2-IC4 engineering team while rapidly scaling the team with clear roles, processes, and standards.
  • •Ensure platform resilience by managing operational health (SLAs/SLOs) for a high-availability, low-latency, massive-scale real-time risk service.

Salary: GBP 135,000 - 175,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Proven ability to define and fully own the architectural roadmap and delivery pipeline for a mission-critical platform with high independence.
  • •Experience hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers to rapidly scale a newly formed team (5+ engineers).
  • •Strong cross-functional decision-making to resolve architectural conflicts and align Product, FinCrime, and engineering stakeholders.
  • •Demonstrated prior experience building and operating scalable product or service platforms and applying that experience to integration/governance challenges in the risk domain.
  • •Ability to operate as a domain bridge between Product teams and compliance-critical Financial Crime teams, ensuring clean, scalable API contracts and data governance.
