Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, splice, and test fiber optic and copper cables for projects, maintenance, and emergency repairs.
  • •Perform dark fiber, reel, continuity, and conformance testing using equipment such as OTDR and T-Berd.
  • •Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair existing fiber and copper networks, locating and resolving faults to ensure service continuity.
  • •Install, configure, and enable telecommunication services such as POTS, HSI, VDSL, FTTH, and networking; perform buried section repairs and corrective action on plant conditions.
  • •Read and interpret service orders and technical drawings; coordinate testing with test centers and document results per company standards while adhering to safety protocols.

Key Requirements

  • •Must work varying shifts and hours, including possible mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • •Requires a valid state driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record; may require compliance with DOT drive qualification regulations and drug/alcohol testing.
  • •Ability to climb and work at elevations exceeding 18 feet (including ladders, poles, and lift trucks) and work in confined spaces outdoors in different weather conditions.
  • •Install, splice, and test fiber optic and copper cabling using industry-standard equipment such as OTDR and T-Berd.
  • •May require a CDL and/or pole climbing certification.
