Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver VAVE/cost-out engineering work for low-voltage switchgear and circuit protection products through design, simulation, testing, and implementation phases.
  • •Collaborate with global stakeholders to generate ideas and execute project phases for switchgear components/products.
  • •Ensure product compliance to global design and regulatory standards (IEC/UL/CSA/NEMA and related compliance standards).
  • •Complete system/component sizing, design engineering analysis, and reliability-related reviews including DFMEA and interpretation of structural/thermal/CFD/MBD results.
  • •Modify existing products via change management to meet customer, manufacturing, regulatory, and market requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •BE/ M.tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • •3-6 years of experience in product design for switchgear/circuit protection devices (e.g., contactors, switch disconnectors, motor protection circuit breakers, push buttons).
  • •Experience with current path design, mechanism design, and arc quenching principles; knowledge of plastic materials and their selection plus GD&T and clearance/creepage calculations.
  • •Experience executing tests and building test plans aligned to low-voltage switchgear standards (e.g., IEC/UL/CSA/CCC).
  • •Experience in manufacturing processes for contacts and plastic components and demonstrated root-cause analysis with corrective/preventive actions.
