Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and implement System Safety program plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E and customer needs.
  • •Conduct and review complex safety analyses at system and sub-system levels (FTA, FHA, SCFTA, FMECA).
  • •Develop safety requirements and collaborate with design teams to implement safety solutions across multi-system architectures.
  • •Identify and document hazards, manage hazard tracking databases, and ensure risk mitigation strategies.
  • •Lead and triage Safety corrective actions from investigations and ensure timely implementation.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum of 8 years of industry experience as a System Safety Engineer or equivalent engineering background.
  • •B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • •Experience with safety-critical hardware and software systems in the defense or aerospace industry, with a preference for Weapon Systems, Aircraft, UAS, Maritime, Space, or Rotorcraft.
  • •Extensive knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and other relevant safety standards.
  • •Experience setting up a System Safety Engineering framework for a product or program, including early-stage Design for Safety and Hazard Analysis experience.
