Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and build the Korea engineering team structure, ensuring it is correctly sized and integrated with APAC expansion goals.
  • •Manage engineers in the Seoul office, including performance, wellbeing, and career growth through regular feedback and coaching.
  • •Own the technical roadmap, addressing technical debt plus reliability, security, and scalability concerns.
  • •Act as Wise’s technical representative to regulators and auditors around IT org and IT security.
  • •Ensure system availability and security, help resolve incidents, and maintain appropriate support, SLAs, on-call rosters, and documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Korean to manage technical documentation and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • •Experience leading or significantly contributing to technical projects and comfort managing the development and deployment lifecycle.
  • •Expert technical depth with solid understanding of distributed systems and modern frameworks.
  • •Approach work with a strong passion for user experience and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain points.
  • •Ensure your team follows standards for observability, security, and infrastructure usage.
