Job Summary

Lead a site-based Health and Safety team for the Simandou project in Guinea, partnering with operational leaders to coach, influence, and strengthen safety performance across multiple sites and business functions. Drive safety maturity initiatives, implement the Safety Foundation Plan and Simfer HSE priorities, and embed risk management, operational control, verification, assurance, and incident management. Build team capability and succession plans while preparing annual plans and managing budgets.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead a team of health and safety professionals across multiple sites, supporting functions including Business Services, Logistics, Security and Transshipment operations to meet HSE obligations.
•Coach, challenge, and influence operational leaders to create ownership of safety performance across the workforce.
•Lead initiatives to increase safety maturity, strengthen leadership engagement, and reinforce critical risk management and safe behaviours.
•Plan and implement the Safety Foundation Plan and Simfer HSE priorities in line with Rio Tinto and the Simfer HSE Integrated Management System.
•Embed risk management, operational control, verification and assurance, and incident management within operational teams, while managing annual plans and budgets.

Key Requirements

•Experience leading in-field coaching and building safety culture through strong relationships.
