Job Summary

Design Manager coordinating multidisciplinary engineering design teams to deliver integrated detailed designs for major infrastructure contracts. Supports the Technical Authority Lead, reviews consultant designs for compliance, manages design content and risks, liaises with stakeholders including rail/safety authorities, and ensures deliverables align with standards and the reference design throughout tendering and post-award phases.

•Oversee and coordinate input from all technical design disciplines to ensure delivery is fully integrated and optimal.
•Oversee planning, programming, controlling and assuring of the design content.
•Collaborate with package leads to enable procurement of major infrastructure contracts while considering other core contracts.
•Ensure designs are detailed enough and comply with the reference design.
•Coordinate the design process and the collation of design information for key areas

•Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
•7 plus years’ experience in a rail engineering environment
•Experience leading a small team of discipline engineers during the design, construction, and integration phase of a project
•Experience managing a Design-Build (DB) contractor to deliver and prepare system and sub-system specifications based on customer requirements
•Experience implementing and managing project controls and report writing
