Provide on-site supervision of the Directional Drilling (DD) process, projecting well paths to target coordinates. Assist with Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) selection and ensure BHA assembly follows specifications, including make-up torque, doping, and handling. Use DD computer software to support client guidance with survey calculations, well path projections, and accurate directional survey data. Complete daily reports, service tickets, and end-of-job documentation while coordinating with MWD engineers for compatibility.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise the Directional Drilling process on-site, including projection of well path to predetermined target coordinates.
•Assist in understanding and executing BHA selection and ensure BHA assembly follows planned specifications.
•Perform survey calculations and well path projections and update well profile plots with accurate directional survey data.
•Assist with daily DD reporting, BHA performance reports, service tickets, and related paperwork (well data spreadsheet, lesson learned/best practice, EJCS, KPI forms).
•Interface with the MWD engineer to ensure BHA compatibility and that toolface references and operating parameters are within specification.

Key Requirements

•Complete a high school diploma or equivalent.
•Minimum of two years of field experience in Directional Drilling, L/MWD, or SDL.
•Understand principles of Bottom Hole assembly (BHA) selection and DD performance.
•Be proficient in the use of DD computer software for advice and analysis at the well site.
•A Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline is preferred.
