Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead negotiation and drafting of agreements with data providers, credit bureaus, government/public-record sources, and alternative-data vendors to acquire and license data.
  • •Negotiate integration, reseller, and technology-partner agreements for third-party products/services integrated into RiskOS.
  • •Structure deal terms covering permitted use, downstream usage rights, data warranties, refresh/update obligations, service levels, and audit rights for frictionless customer sales.
  • •Collaborate with Product Counsel and Privacy on regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, including FCRA, GLBA, state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA), GDPR, and related regimes.
  • •Develop AI-supported tracking and agentic AI workflows to catalog usage rights and limitations for each data source, and maintain contract playbooks/templates to accelerate deal cycles while preserving legal guardrails.

Key Requirements

  • •JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
  • •At least 7 years of post-JD legal experience in law firm or in-house, with substantial experience negotiating data licensing, data acquisition, or data-sharing agreements.
  • •Deep familiarity with data privacy and consumer-data regulatory frameworks, including FCRA and GLBA (state privacy laws also required).
  • •Demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial data transactions covering data rights, IP, and liability allocation for sensitive/regulated data.
  • •Experience negotiating technology integration, reseller, or platform-partner agreements is a plus, especially for SaaS platforms embedding or reselling third-party data/services.
