Job Summary

Operate and maintain furnace process operations by focusing on furnace preparation, load building, furnace reading, rounds, and process flow. Provide process integrity and quality, follow environmental health and safety procedures, and apply Behavior Based Safety (BBS). Use Lean Manufacturing tools like KAS, 5S, and TPM while monitoring and responding to area metrics. Receive ongoing training toward advancement into Operator II.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide process integrity and maintain process quality for furnace process operations.
•Perform engineering instruction for department processes including carbonization, densification, and heat-treating.
•Follow environmental, health, and safety standards to eliminate hazards and improve workplace safety.
•Demonstrate understanding and implementation of BBS (Behavior Based Safety).
•Monitor work-area metrics and take timely action when performance falls below acceptable limits.

Key Requirements

•HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
•Experience using hand tools.

•Ability to work a 4-on/4-off schedule with 12-hour day and night shifts.
•Basic understanding of mathematics and PC skills.
