Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee complete lifecycle design of plastic enclosures and mechanical assemblies for consumer electronics, from concept to mass production.
  • •Collaborate with hardware/embedded engineers, industrial designers, technologists, QA, and manufacturing teams to optimize design for manufacturability and serviceability.
  • •Prepare and maintain production transfer documentation including 2D drawings, specifications, and 3D models for molds.
  • •Support mold development and modify designs after mold trials (T0–T2) with defect analysis and design improvements.
  • •Verify finished product compliance with stiffness, assembly, weight, and IP protection requirements and assess impact on production costs.

Key Requirements

  • •Proficient in 3D modeling with SolidWorks (predominantly solid modeling) and basic sheet metal modeling; able to create precise assemblies and verify tolerances for molding production.
  • •Experience with DFM/DFA and mold design considerations (opening directions, gating points, parting lines, risk of short shots/air pockets).
  • •Proven ability to coordinate with factories and cross-functional teams (hardware/embedded engineers, industrial designers, technologists, QA, and manufacturing).
  • •Experience preparing production transfer documentation (2D drawings, specifications, technical requirements, 3D models for molds) and supporting mold development after initial trials (T0–T2).
  • •Familiarity with materials and sealing/IP considerations (ABS/PC/PC+ABS/PA+GF, sealing methods, IP54–IP67) and with production cost impact during design decisions.
