Job Summary

Join the Bristol-based Software Engineering and Systems Integration team to certify and deliver safe airborne software components for Boeing Seats. You will review supplier lifecycle data, oversee development and certification artifacts, ensure DO-178B/C compliance, collaborate with regulators and global sites, and help prepare certification packages to meet EASA/FAA standards, enabling robust, certified seat systems across Boeing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

•Review suppliers’ software lifecycle data (architecture, design, requirements, verification/validation) across planning, development, verification and certification phases
•Oversee supplier software development and lifecycle processes; perform supplier audits/assessments to meet Boeing standards and regulatory expectations
•Oversee and verify preparation and submission of comprehensive technical documentation for certification
•Collaborate with regulatory representatives, suppliers and global Boeing sites to ensure systems and software designs comply with regulatory and internal standards
•Prepare and maintain certification packages and software compliance documentation; respond to technical inquiries and auditor requests

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
•Ability to obtain security clearance
•Level 2 (Associate): 2+ years avionics or embedded software development/verification; DO-178C/ED-12C familiarity; DO-330/DO-331 experience
•Level 3 (Experienced): 5+ years in avionics software development life cycles; DO-178C/ED-12C experience; RTOS and HW–SW integration knowledge
•Knowledge of DO-254 interactions when seat controllers include custom hardware
