Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise 4–6 team members, providing mentorship and performance management while helping the team meet design commitments.
  • •Develop and debug embedded software using C++ and Python for bare metal and Linux environments, integrating with microcontrollers and computing modules.
  • •Build system software for a back-end command and control framework using IoT protocols, collaborating with third-party control devices and automating testing.
  • •Perform hands-on hardware debug and design bring-up, including feedback to schematic design, reviewing PCB layouts, prototyping circuits, and testing/documenting results.
  • •Collaborate cross-disciplinarily (software, electrical, controls, and mechanical) and create technical documentation; attend occasional off-hour collaboration meetings.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • •5+ years of technical experience in a similar design role.
  • •Software proficiency in C++ (low-level and OO concepts) and familiarity with Linux and the GNU tool chain.
  • •Familiarity with advanced OS, concurrency, and inter-process communication, plus network configuration and debug experience.
  • •Desire to work hands-on in a lab environment, with experience using lab equipment (e.g., power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, SMUs) and familiarity with schematics and PCB layouts.
