Key Responsibilities

  • •Support assigned partners/attorneys during the legislative session with drafting client communications, researching legislation and statutes, and helping with client legislative events.
  • •Create client reports using customized legislative software (training provided) covering legislation, amendments, hearings, budget process, and conference committees.
  • •Prepare a weekly legislative newsletter for clients and create customized presentations for industry sectors and clients as directed.
  • •Write legislative update reports, talking points, and various communications/alerts under tight session deadlines.
  • •Monitor and track bill progression, attend committee hearings/events in person, and assist with client preparation for State House events and legislative proposals.

Key Requirements

  • •Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher-level degree.
  • •Knowledge and understanding of state governmental processes.
  • •Previous government or political background or government intern experience desired; previous experience with the Indiana General Assembly preferred.
  • •Strong communication and public-speaking skills for a diverse internal and external audience.
  • •Working knowledge in Microsoft Office and ability to work at least 40 hours per week, including evenings as necessary.
