Job Summary

Perform and analyze low to high complexity diagnostic tests in the laboratory, including pediatric and adult phlebotomy, while ensuring quality assurance and compliance with ISO15189, CAP, and JCI guidelines. Collaborate with the Team Lead, maintain complex automated equipment, and support inventory and data systems to deliver accurate patient results.

Job Function: Laboratory & Clinical Operations

Key Responsibilities

•Actively participates in the technical and analytical work of the section and liaises with the Team Lead on appropriateness of tests, results, and additional testing as required.
•Monitors, records, reports results, and participates in discussions to rectify areas of concern; identifies problems and notifies the Team Lead as needed.
•Performs pediatric and adult phlebotomy and provides phlebotomy support to other units for difficult veins; ensures safe collection of specimens and accurate patient identification.
•Operates and maintains complex automated laboratory equipment and LIS; uses data to generate workload statistics and assess data quality; plans, performs, and evaluates laboratory testing and quality control.
•Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, follows ISO15189/CAP/JCI guidelines, and documents laboratory procedures to assure accuracy of records; assists in inventory management and stock ordering.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 4 years experience in clinical laboratories as a licensed Clinical Scientist or Technologist (Required).
•Minimum 3 years of Phlebotomy experience in a pediatric hospital (Required).
•Minimum 3 years as a Technologist in a CAP or ISO15189 laboratory (Preferred).
•Minimum 2 years in GCC (Preferred).
•Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
