Key Responsibilities

  • •Support power testing and commissioning activities by applying client, industry, and manufacturer standards.
  • •Perform on-site hands-on protective relay testing for high voltage substations using relay test sets such as Omicron and Doble.
  • •Document site activities using field forms, digital data tools, and mobile applications; maintain accurate logs, photo documentation, and labels.
  • •Support project leadership with technical escalation, progress updates, and assistance reviewing work quality for less experienced technicians.
  • •Participate in daily safety briefings and ensure health and safety compliance, while also handling field clerical tasks such as timecards, expenses, and project reports.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical testing, including medium and high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
  • •Expertise with transmission, generation, and distribution relays (e.g., SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE) and protective schemes.
  • •Proven experience applying field testing standards and procedures such as NETA, IEEE, and NFPA.
  • •Experience using technical software tools (e.g., ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe, AcSELerator Quickset) and reading electrical drawings.
