Job Summary

Support maximum plant reliability by owning Sonoco’s Maintenance Excellence Process. Perform proactive multi-craft maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across mechanical, electrical, automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems. Install and troubleshoot AC/DC drives and motors, analyze PLC program logic, conduct root cause analysis to minimize repeat failures, and execute preventive/predictive maintenance. Document work in CMMS, uphold safety and 5S standards, and collaborate with operations to resolve abnormal equipment conditions.

Key Responsibilities

•Comply with safety policies and maintain safe behavior, identifying and reducing risks and hazards.
•Perform proactive maintenance and repairs for mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems, including installing and troubleshooting AC/DC drives and motors.
•Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to eliminate unplanned failures and minimize repeat failures.
•Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks and help develop/optimize related procedures and activities.
•Document maintenance activity in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and communicate with operations to resolve abnormal or degraded equipment conditions.

•Ability to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, including PLC program logic.
•Working knowledge performing electrical work in compliance with NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
•Proficiency using standard computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite) and using a CMMS for maintenance documentation.
