Key Responsibilities

  • •Own critical DevX infrastructure impacting all engineers at Canva.
  • •Build and maintain CI/CD systems, test infrastructure, release automation, and deployment safety mechanisms.
  • •Optimize developer experience across the SDLC including local/remote developer environments, build system performance, IDE integrations, and AI-assisted development tooling.
  • •Maintain source control systems, monorepo tooling, build systems (Bazel), and code review infrastructure.
  • •Lead high-leverage platform initiatives that eliminate systemic friction such as faster builds, automated releases, and self-service platforms.

  • •Strong background in Platform Engineering with solid programming experience in Python and Go; Java or TypeScript is a plus.
  • •Proven track record building and operating systems at scale.

  • •Strong experience with AWS or GCP (they use AWS).
  • •Extensive experience with Kubernetes in production and complex CI/CD pipelines; experience with Bazel (monorepo build tools) is highly valued.
