Key Responsibilities

  • •Troubleshoot network equipment, replace defective components, and isolate/restore network service using appropriate resources.
  • •Assist with installation, change, decommissioning, and testing of next-generation technologies (e.g., edge compute, wavelength, fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, IP).
  • •Install, activate, and maintain telecommunications network services and equipment, including network and customer premise equipment (CPE) when required.
  • •Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair on network infrastructure; conduct testing and validation of network services using company-provided tools.
  • •Respond to service outages and support restoration activities (including fiber cut response), travel to customer locations/network sites, and participate in rotating on-call coverage.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED, or up to 2 years of relevant job experience with 1+ years of network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
  • •Entry-level technician with knowledge/experience in at least one discipline: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), or Outside Plant (fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing).
  • •Ability to learn technical concepts, processes, and troubleshooting techniques through structured training.
  • •Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors and in varying field conditions.
  • •On-call 24x7 rotational coverage, including stand-by, call-out, dispatch, and overtime as required.
